BBC RADIO SUFFOLK – FESTIVAL OF THE YEAR 2017

Celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, Maverick Festival has announced further additions to this years line-up. We are also thrilled to reveal as a tribute to the current UK Americana scene, the festival has invited  The Americana Music Association (UK) to programme The Peacock Stage on the opening night of the festival (Friday), presenting artists specially selected from its membership.

The AMA-UK is a professional trade association representing and advocating for the voice of American roots music in the UK. The association aims to support Americana artists and build networks internationally including with the Americana Music Association in the US; members include musicians, from both the UK and overseas, plus professionals across the music industry

New additions to the Maverick Festival’s milestone year include, the return of official torch-bearer of the Jimmy Rodgers legacy, Britt Gully; hailing from the depths of Mississippi we welcome Rambling Steve Gardner who’s ready to showcase his deep southern blues at this years festival; jivin’ duo Royal Jelly bring their rock ’n’ roll swing vibe to the weekend; plus, expect some truly authentic bluegrass from the lonesome plains of Essex with the New Essex Bluegrass Band.

This year, Maverick Festival is very proud to invite AMA-UK to host the Peacock Stage on the Friday evening, and following a tight competition within the membership, they have revealed the final line-up –
